In the News: Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami, Inuit Circumpolar Council, Inuit Treaty Organization leaders and other Inuit delegates travelled to Kalaallit Nunaat on February 5, 2026, to show support for Kalaallit sovereignty and self-determination and to celebrate the opening of the Canadian Consulate in Nuuk. They were joined by Governor General Mary Simon, Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand and Arctic Ambassador Virginia Mearns.
