This year marks the 45th anniversary of Borrowed Black, a children’s book written by Ellen Bryan Obed, an educator and the mother of ITK President Natan Obed. In this piece from CBC’s Labrador Morning, Natan talks about his mother’s love of Labrador and how she wanted to write a book so Labrador children could see their own backyards reflected back. He also talks about his love for the spooky, rhyming story, and how he passed the book, and a love of reading, on to his two sons. Follow the link to listen to the full interview.
